Welcome to Swansong Editing. My name is Hollie Snider, and I am a freelance editor and Executive Editor of Hidden Thoughts Press. Swansong Editing is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado serving the English-speaking world. I am not a multi-lingual service . . . yet.
I have over 15 years of editing experience, ranging from simple copyediting, to the position of acquisitions editor and finally, Executive Editor of Hidden Thoughts Press. I have experience working with authors and publishing houses, and am a founding member of the award-winning Colorado Springs Fiction Writer’s Group. I have taught creative writing classes at a local juvenile correctional facility and have given many lectures on different creative writing topics. In addition, I have been on several panel discussions both as an author and an editor.
As an editor, I recently created the zombie anthology, “Live and Let Undead” for Twisted Library Press, carefully selecting the stories then working with each of the 18 authors on a personal basis to create a work we could all be proud of. This project was a lot of fun and I plan to put more fiction anthologies together in the future. As Executive Editor for Hidden Thoughts Press, I work with the editors and contributing authors of the different anthologies released from this press, as well as working one-on-one with our non-fiction work authors.
In addition to being an editor, I am also an active writer. I have a published novel (“For the Rank of Master” being re-released in the spring of 2012 by Wicked East Press) and several short stories forthcoming. In addition, I have written several writing-related articles with advice for writers, and am working on more. These articles have been used for everything from writing assistance and education to sermons and research references. I believe I know what readers like and expect, as well as what publishers like and expect, and know how to help an author achieve those goals.
Swansong Editing will edit fiction, creative non-fiction, and non-fiction works. I do not edit poetry, music, screenplays, plays, or technical works.
I am proud to have Swansong Editing listed with Preditors and Editors.

Henry Snider is a founding member of the award-winning Colorado Springs Fiction Writer’s Group. During the last two decades he’s dedicated his time to helping others tighten their writing through critique groups, classes, lectures, prison prose programs and high school fiction contests. He retired from the CSFWGpresidency in December 2008. After a much needed vacation he returned to writing, this time for publication in mid-2010.
While still reserving enough time to pursue his own fiction aspirations, Henry continues to be active in the writing community through classes, editing services and advice.
Henry lives with his wife, fellow author and editor Hollie Snider, son – poet Josh Snider and numerous neurotic animals, including, of course, Alexander, the token black cat.
Feel free to the Colorado Springs Fiction Writers Group’s “Change of the Guard“ for a little more about me.
