Swansong Editing provides a simple, straight-forward, pricing plan for customers.  We’ve included a description of each service below.

While samples of other people’s edited work helps, it is not the same thing as an author seeing a sample of their own edited work.  Swansong Editing offers a “sample edit” of up to 500 words for free.  Please note that complete works totalling under 500 words (flash fiction) will not be considered for free editing samples.

As Swansong Editing hand-edits all manuscripts, every client’s work has to be printed.  Each page is double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman with one-inch margins all-around.  Printing the manuscript is mandatory for clients.

For manuscripts under 3,500 words, Swansong Editing charges a flat-rate of $35 (in addition to the $10 printing fee).

For manuscripts over 3,500 words, Swansong Editing charges $.01 per word (in addition to the $10 printing fee).

Swansong Editing supplies the edited manuscript in a full-color Adobe PDF format.  Delivery method is either e-mail (dependent on maximum e-mail attachment size by provider) or by password-protected download from the Swansong Editing website.

If you would prefer to have the hard copy of your edited manuscript, that is possible. Shipping charges within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii, and US Territories are $15.00. This fee includes packaging your manuscript for safe arrival and a tracking number.

If you live outside of the United States, or United States Territory, please query for a shipping quote. Please note, the United State Postal Service does not allow international shipments by any method other than Priority Mail.
